Educators in the Eastern Cape sing praises as Reading Trolley is launched
Macmillan Education South Africa was given a wonderful opportunity to launch the Reading Trolley and Reading Corners at the Reading and Writing Workshop for Foundation Phase educators in Port Elizabeth, hosted by the Department of Education Eastern Cape.
The workshop was well attended, with over 200 educators from surrounding districts in Port Elizabeth getting an opportunity to interact with the Reading Trolley and Reading Corner. The response during the presentation by Fufu Sigcau, Provincial Sales Manager, Eastern Cape, was so overwhelming that the educators broke out into song. With delight on their faces, the educators expressed how impressed they are with Macmillan’s innovation.
In the spirit of the Nelson Mandela Month and as part of our continued effort to contribute in nurturing the reading and comprehension skills of learners, Macmillan Education South Africa donated a Reading Trolley and a Foundation Phase Reader Pack to Labry Primary School as well as a Foundation Phase Reading Corner and an IsiXhosa Reader Pack to Jan Nomjana Senior Primary School. These schools were nominated to be recipients of these donations by the Department of Education in the Eastern Cape.
We are pleased with the response and impact we have made.
