The small village of Mvezo in the Eastern Cape was abuzz with excitement and celebration this past Tuesday, 25 August, when President Jacob Zuma opened the newly upgraded Sefako Lewanika Mandela Primary School and Macmillan Education South Africa was present to experience this memorable occasion.

This school was formed as a result of a merger between two schools in this village and provides much-needed educational facilities to many impoverished learners in this community.

Macmillan Education South Africa also contributed to this cause by donating resources such as cushions, kiddies’ carpets, browsing boxes, books and posters for a reading corner for grade R and foundation phase learners.

“At the heart of our mission at Macmillan Education lies a passion to help learners around the world to achieve more by providing them with world-class content and this contribution is a true reflection of this,” said Caren Maree, Group Marketing Manager.
