Macmillan launched its digital strategy on 29 May by holding an evening cocktail party at The Venue in Melrose Arch. The event was well attended with a number of VIP guests from South Africa and Swaziland, who came into the country to witness firsthand the extent to which Macmillan is pushing the traditional boundaries of education.

Specially recorded videos introduced the crowd to the future of education through Macmillan's elearning solutions as well as the new website.  Macmillan has set itself ahead of the pack by teaming up with Mindset Learn to create the most interactive learning platform in the country for learners.

With one simple Skype call the event crossed over live to the 'learn extra live' studio where Bernita Naudé and Dylan Busa from Mindset had a quick chat with the social media presenter as the show beamed across the country. This was to demonstrate the instant accessibility that Mindset provides for all learners. With the exceptional content provided in the Macmillan textbooks and the instant feedback provided by Mindset and the 'learn extra live' show, Macmillan is taking education from the classroom to the learners' living room. With additional feedback provided on Facebook, Twitter and Mxit learners have never before had such access to information.

The evening was rounded off by a wonderful performance by mentalist Gilan Gork. He captivated the audience with some mind blowing tricks and elusions.
